Rebecca J. Hendricks
Senior Consultant

Rebecca Hendricks has spent the last 23 years in education and training. Her extensive corporate experience includes over 13 years in human resources at Honeywell-Measurex, most recently as Director of Training and Development. In that role, Rebecca had worldwide responsibility for sales, quality, and management/employee training and development. She was also responsible for employee relations for all that company’s U.S. organizations.

Rebecca has worked with managers and supervisors at all levels, as well as with employees in functional work groups. She has initiated and conducted a variety of programs locally, throughout the U.S., and internationally. Some of her clients include: Asia-Pacific Intercontinental Hotels, Coherent Medical Group, Golden Gate University, and Johnson Engineering, Inc. Furthermore, she has been a guest lecturer for California Partnership Academies, Silicon Valley Chapter of American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), and other civic organizations. Rebecca is certified to train several Barnes & Conti programs including Exercising Influence, Constructive Negotiation, C.O.A.C.H. for Peak Performance, and Constructive Debate. She is also a member of the Silicon Valley Chapter of ASTD and the Bay Area Organizational Development Network.

Rebecca holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music and Education from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and a Master’s degree in Education from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California. Rebecca’s current clients include: Intuit, PDL BioPharma, Kaiser Permanente, SumTotal, NetRatings, Harmonics, Cisco, and Yahoo! She resides in San Jose, California.

Michael Delgado
Senior Associate

Michael Delgado is a Senior Associate of Barnes & Conti Associates, Inc., focusing on the development and delivery of training to client companies.

Over the past 16 years, Mike has developed and delivered courses ranging from personal goal setting, meeting management, and effective leadership. He enjoys working with a variety of groups, assisting them in maximizing their potential. Clients particularly enjoy Mr. Delgado’s professional—yet personal—approach to course delivery.

In addition to his association with Barnes & Conti, Mr. Delgado works as a consultant and is a lead instruction designer with experience developing curricula in a variety of skill areas and subject matters. Some of the groups for which he has provided training include K.P.M.G. Peat Marwick, the State of Hawaii, Genentech Inc., and Yahoo!

Mr. Delgado received a BA in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley, and an MA in Education from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. Some of Mike’s current clients include Cisco, Levi Strauss, Yum! Brands, NetApp, Biosystems, and Stanford University. Mike resides in San Francisco, California.

Wendi E. Eldh
Senior Consultant

Wendi Eldh has more than 13 years experience as a trainer, curricula developer, facilitator, coach, and editor for the public and private sectors. Wendi has conducted training throughout the U.S. as well as in England, Italy, and Germany.

Before becoming a trainer, Wendi was a journalist who worked in both print and broadcast journalism. Her 10-year journalism career included stints as a disc jockey, radio news reporter, TV news reporter for a CNN affiliate, Gannett daily newspaper reporter, and editor for a U.S. military magazine in Europe. Wendi also served as the internal communications manager for Merchants National Bank in Germany. Wendi is an experienced, certified trainer in Exercising Influence and specializes in developing and presenting training programs in the areas of interpersonal communication, dynamic public speaking, workplace professionalism and etiquette, as well as grammar and business writing skills.

Wendi has a Master’s degree in adult education/human resources development from Boston University (summa cum laude, 1992) and a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from San Diego State University (magna cum laude, 1988). Her current clients include: BAE Systems, Marriott Corporation, AARP, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Army Audit Agency, United States Senate, House Commerce Committee, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Agency for International Development, Defense Information Systems Agency, Peace Corps, Veteran’s Affairs, Voice of America, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Optical Society of America, United Air Travel Plan, and Pedigree Petfoods. She resides in Washington D.C.

Barbara Galyen
Senior Associate

Dr. Barbara Galyen has many years of expertise in several areas: team building, influence skills training, change management, leadership development, cross-cultural training and development, organizational skills, training of trainers, conflict resolution, customer service, strategic planning, and project management. Her list of clients include: Xybernet, Wipro Technologies, Zensar Technologies, Hewlett Packard, Broderbund, Clorox, Sun Microsystems, the United Nations, plus a wide variety of other organizations.

Dr. Galyen’s work builds results and relationships around the globe, across functions, in teams, and throughout organizations.

In addition to her association with Barnes & Conti, Dr. Galyen is the president of her own corporation with bases in both California and India. Prior to this, she was the dean of the United States International University in Nairobi, Kenya. Barbara holds an EdD in Organizational Leadership and an MA in Counseling.

Bette Krakau
Senior Associate

Bette Krakau has over 20 years of broad experience as an internal and external training and development consultant. Her expertise has been focused in the areas of leadership development, strategic planning, organizational change, and team development and effectiveness. In addition, Bette has also worked and consulted in human resources, organizational development, influence and communication, career development, customer service, and process improvement.

Bette has much experience with a variety of domestic and international organizations in the manufacturing, high tech, health care, education, government, and financial sectors. She has also worked with the Metropolitan Medical Center as a training specialist and human resources representative and as a training manager at Gillette Company and NCS Pearson. She has published a number of articles on “best practices” for teams. Her past clients include: 3M, T. Rowe Price, Kaiser Permanente, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, U.S. Navy, Johns Hopkins University, and the Baptist Medical Center in Southern California. Her international assignments include leadership and team development projects in Poland, Hungary, Singapore, and Japan.

Bette holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. As a Senior Associate for Barnes & Conti, Bette is certified to deliver the Exercising Influence, The Mastery of Change, and Intelligent Risk-Taking programs, among others. Her current clients include BAE Systems at which she conducted customized Exercising Influence programs with high-potential executives. At Marriott Corporation she developed a learning portal for over 350 Marriott locations in North America. Other current clients include Morrison Management (a major division of Compass Corporation, Charlotte NC), Prudential Corporation—Newark, NJ, U.S. Intelligence Community—CIA, NGA, NSA— and U.S. Patent and Trademarks. Bette currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

Martha Legare
Senior Associate

Martha Legare has worked for 20 years as a consultant, coach, and trainer to Fortune 500 industries. She brings a comprehensive background in business strategy, organization development, and project management. Her strong cross-cultural skills in working with diverse teams have assisted many companies in achieving their goals.

Previously, she was general manager of a manufacturing company where she designed and implemented quality improvement programs. Prior to that, she was manager of an institutional food service company at which she doubled production within eight months. Her start in business strategy and organization development began by her founding a retail business and increasing the initial investment by 167% in fewer than four years.

Martha has helped clients establish project offices in the U.S., Mexico, and Europe. A few of the clients with whom Martha has worked include: Allfirst Bank, American Honda, BBDO Advertising, Compuware, CCH, Dow Brands, Exel—United Kingdom, Mexico and United States, Medtronic Corporation, MetLife, Oracle, Pfizer, Siemens, University of Michigan M-Care, and Zenith Data Systems.

As an internationally recognized speaker for professional and trade associations, Martha has spoken on a wide range of topics from “Exercising Influence for Project Managers” to “Developing the Global Project Office.” She is also an adjunct faculty member for Oakland University and the American Management Association (published in their Trainer’s Activity Book—Best of the Best, 2004). Furthermore, she is a certified mediator for the American Arbitration Association.

Martha received her BA from Guilford College and her MBA from Alameda College. Martha is a certified PMP (Project Management Professional) and is on the Project Management Institute’s Global Registered Education Provider Advisory Board. She is a member of the American Society for Training and Development, the National Speaker’s Association, and the National Organization Development Network. Her current clients include: Medtronic, PDL BioPharma, Cisco, St. Paul Travelers Insurance, and Kaiser Permanente. She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
