Exercising Influence: Influence Skills and Influence TrainingExercising Influence:
Individual Development Program for Senior Managers

Most senior managers and executives spend the majority of their time engaged in the process of influence—in all directions. Power alone is not enough to get the right things done in organizations; leadership requires the ability to influence across levels and boundaries. A good set of influence skills gives you the edge you need to gain involvement and commitment, maintain energy and focus, ensure collaboration, manage conflict, and maximize resources.

In this 12-hour course, participants will learn the concepts and behavioral skills of the two-day Exercising Influence™ program in an “individual learner” format. Participants will work one-on-one with an influence coach, while gathering feedback and learning the influence “fitness model” to develop strength, flexibility, and focus as influencers. The course is specifically geared to the needs of senior level managers; the coaching sessions can be scheduled at the participant’s convenience, and the exercises and influence plan will be tailored to the participant’s needs.

This individual development program consists of six sessions, which range from one to three hours in length. During the sessions, the participant will meet with the facilitator to set goals, learn concepts, practice skills, plan applications to real and important influence opportunities, receive coaching, review and learn from the experiences, and establish new learning goals. As with our two-day Exercising Influence™ program, the targeted consulting is a just-in-time learning opportunity, enabling the participant to apply new skills immediately in order to resolve problems and conflicts and achieve outstanding business results.
